Legal Advice services

Whilst I am a strong advocate of mediation or informal discussions between you to resolve post separation disputes, I am also a strong advocate of seeking legal advice beforehand so that you know your position prior to entering negotiations.

I provide an initial legal advice appointment of one hour for $180. Subsequent legal advice at any stage of your matter is also available at an hourly rate of $250 (we can agree the maximum time or bundle the cost before the appointment so there is no bill shock).

Obtaining legal advice early in a one-off appointment like this empowers you to be able to engage in direct negotiation with your ex or utilise low cost mediation services such as Relationships Australia or Centacare if some assistance is required. This can save you significant costs in legal representation whilst ensuring you have the knowledge to protect your entitlements. 

If you are able to come to an agreement, I can assist you to formalise your agreement into court orders or a parenting plan for a low fixed fee. If not, I can assist you to self-represent in negotiations or court proceedings.

If I provide you with legal advice, I cannot provide mediation services later, and vice versa, I cannot provide legal advice or representation to mediation clients.
